However it was not until 2007 that PETA began to attract wider attention within the gaming community with its release of Super Chick Sisters, a parody of Super Mario Bros. These games received some coverage in academic and news sources, and PETA's head of online marketing, Joel Bartlett, identified their 2004 Revenge of the PETA Tomatoes and the Frogger parody, Lobster Liberation, as some of the organization's earliest released games. Some of PETA's earliest forays into gaming include Flash-based games such as Make Fred Spew (2001) and Save the Chicks (2003), which were included as part of PETA's anti-dairy and Kentucky Fried Cruelty campaigns. I need a birthday soon! At least the holidays are on their way (somewhat). I haven't even dared peek into what October has in store. Will hold out for reviews on those before plunking down the cash for them. I'm also not 100% sold yet on Contact, Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins or Harvest Moon. Rumors have it that Splinter Cell might be delayed until October, which if that's the case you won't hear me complaining. Granted I'm not going to be able to pick all of this up in one month, so my top picks are most likely going to be Loco Roco on the PSP for $40, Splinter Cell: Double Agent on the Xbox360 for $60 and the Star Wars DVDs for a total of $60 all together leaving me $160 lighter for the month. While actual prices don't affect the games any, they will help with the DVDs and according to Amazon's current prices that'll take the total down to $387. My budget is no match for the sheer amount of quality releases both game & DVD: Now that $450 total is based on list prices for everything. AD I'm going to want to pick up right away, The Tick on the other hand I've waited ages for, I suppose I can wait a bit longer. Season 1 on DVD coming out the end of the month for $30 and $35 (list prices) respectivly. Of course there is still Arrested Development Season 3 & The Tick VS. Even if those two turn out to be stellar they'll only run me $55 - a $25 Best Buy coupon. Harvest Moon got bumped until September 12, Super Monkey Ball Adventure is a bust on all platforms and the jury is still out on Star Fox & Cooking Mama. Doesn't look like August is turning out anything like I had anticipated gaming-wise.
